- 12–14 small plums, pitted
- ½ cup (100g) sugar (for plums)
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (500g) mashed potatoes (cooled)
- 1 egg
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup (100g) butter
- 1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs
- Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions
- Prepare the Plums:
Pit plums and fill each with a teaspoon of sugar (and a pinch of cinnamon if desired). - Make the Dough:
Mix mashed potatoes, flour, egg, and salt into a smooth, pliable dough. - Wrap the Plums:
Take a portion of dough, flatten, and wrap around each plum, sealing completely. - Cook the Dumplings:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a gentle boil.
Drop dumplings carefully and cook 8–10 minutes, until they float to the top. - Prepare the Coating:
Melt butter in a pan, add breadcrumbs, and toast until golden brown. - Serve:
Roll cooked dumplings in buttered breadcrumbs and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
