Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (100g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup (115g) butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling:
- 2 cups (200g) ground walnuts
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup (320g) apricot jam
For the Topping:
- ½ cup (120g) dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Knead into a smooth dough. Divide into 3 equal portions. - Roll Out Layers:
Roll each portion into a rectangle (~9×12 inches). - Assemble the Cake:
- Place first layer in a greased baking pan. Spread half of the apricot jam.
- Sprinkle half of the walnut mixture evenly.
- Add second dough layer, spread remaining jam and walnuts.
- Top with third dough layer.
- Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake 30–35 minutes until golden. Cool completely. - Chocolate Topping:
Melt chocolate with butter. Pour over cooled cake. Let set before slicing.
