Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900g) potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 1 cup (200g) smoked sausage or Hungarian kolbรกsz, sliced
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (180ยฐC).
  2. Boil sliced potatoes until just tender, then drain.
  3. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  4. Layer ingredients: start with potatoes, then eggs, sausage, and a spoonful of sour cream. Season each layer with salt and pepper. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with potatoes and a bit of sour cream on top.
  5. Optional: sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for a golden crust.
  6. Bake 25โ€“30 minutes until heated through and top is lightly browned.
