Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (7 g) dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾–1 cup warm milk
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Oil for frying
Optional Toppings:
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup grated cheese
Directions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and 1 tablespoon oil. Knead into soft dough. Let rise 1 hour.
- Divide dough into 4–6 pieces. Flatten into rounds about ½ inch thick.
- Heat oil in a deep pan (350°F / 175°C). Fry dough 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Brush with garlic water while warm. Top with sour cream and grated cheese if desired.
