Hungarian Chicken Paprikash

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp oil or lard
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brown in oil 5–7 min per side. Remove.
  2. Sauté onions until soft, add garlic 30 sec.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in paprika.
  4. Return chicken, add broth. Simmer covered 30–35 min.
  5. Mix flour with some sour cream, stir into sauce. Add remaining sour cream off heat.
  6. Garnish with parsley. Serve with noodles, rice, or dumplings.
