Hungarian Chocolate Coconut Cubes (Kókuszkocka)
Ingredients
For the sponge cake:
- 4 eggs
- 200 g sugar
- 120 ml milk
- 120 ml oil
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 10 g baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the chocolate coating:
- 200 ml milk
- 150 g sugar
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 100 g butter
For coating:
- 150 g desiccated coconut
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
- Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add milk, oil, and vanilla; mix well.
- Fold in flour mixed with baking powder.
- Pour batter into a lined baking pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
- Let cake cool completely, then cut into small cubes.
- In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, cocoa, and butter until smooth.
- Dip each cake cube quickly into the chocolate mixture.
- Roll immediately in desiccated coconut.
- Place on a tray and let set before serving.
