Hungarian Chocolate Coconut Cubes (Kókuszkocka)

Ingredients

For the sponge cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 120 ml milk
  • 120 ml oil
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the chocolate coating:

  • 200 ml milk
  • 150 g sugar
  • 30 g cocoa powder
  • 100 g butter

For coating:

  • 150 g desiccated coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add milk, oil, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Fold in flour mixed with baking powder.
  5. Pour batter into a lined baking pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  6. Let cake cool completely, then cut into small cubes.
  7. In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, cocoa, and butter until smooth.
  8. Dip each cake cube quickly into the chocolate mixture.
  9. Roll immediately in desiccated coconut.
  10. Place on a tray and let set before serving.
