📝 Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (120 g) butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling:
- 3/4 cup (200 g) fruit jam (apricot is classic)
- 1 cup (100 g) ground walnuts
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
For Topping:
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat Oven
350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan or springform with parchment paper. - Prepare Dough
Mix flour, sugar, butter, egg, baking powder, and vanilla to form a smooth dough.
Reserve about 1/3 of the dough for the lattice topping. - Assemble Base
Press remaining dough into the bottom of the pan.
Spread jam evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle ground walnuts mixed with sugar and cinnamon on top. - Lattice Topping
Roll out reserved dough and cut into thin strips.
Arrange strips in a crisscross (lattice) pattern over the filling.
Brush with beaten egg. - Bake
Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown. - Cool & Serve
Let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and cut into squares or slices.
