Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (100g) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ½ cup (115g) butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups (200g) ground walnuts
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup (320g) apricot jam

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup (120g) dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Knead into a smooth dough. Divide into 3 equal portions.
  2. Roll Out Layers:
    Roll each portion into a rectangle (~9×12 inches).
  3. Assemble the Cake:
  • Place first layer in a greased baking pan. Spread half of the apricot jam.
  • Sprinkle half of the walnut mixture evenly.
  • Add second dough layer, spread remaining jam and walnuts.
  • Top with third dough layer.
  1. Bake:
    Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake 30–35 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  2. Chocolate Topping:
    Melt chocolate with butter. Pour over cooled cake. Let set before slicing.
